So what if losing everything you own is just a hospital visit away?
Has putting profit before people become the American way?
Just like big oil, big drug, and big insurance all agree!

believe the end justifies any means
or make a mockery of truth and 'justice for all'
and take liberty with our rights and dreams?
What will become of Lady Liberty in the coming years?
Will her light be burning bright or be extinguished by the tears
Of those whose lives are torn apart by those too blind to see

We're never going to be indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,
'til the common good comes before party politics,
and for sale signs are banned in the halls of government.
If we're "one nation under God," God must be disappointed
unless the GOD OF ABUSE OF POWER AND GREED
was recently anointed!
As some still debate about the fate
of the Ten Commandments on the government walls,
we lie and steal for power and kill for oil
and then proceed to break them all!
When We the People do unto others as we'd have done unto US,
maybe then we'll begin to live under God
and in God not gold we'll trust!

NOW'S THE TIME TO PUT CHILDREN FIRST
There are no easy answers to the problems that we face.
If we truly want solutions, then the mirror is the place
to find the person who can change the world!
With the will, there is the power!
Why wait another day? Why wait another hour?
NOW’S THE TIME!
We debate about healthcare, welfare, warfare,
child care, violence, and crime,
Guns and drugs and second-hand smoke
and daylight savings time,
Education, term limitation, where to cut and who to tax;
And children just keep on falling –
falling through the cracks!!
Children are the greatest gift! Their future is on the line!!
Their legacy is our words and deeds,
and we’re wasting precious time
as fires of ignorance, abuse, hate, and greed so deeply burn!!
For the sake of all the children, I pray someday we’ll learn!!
Now’s the time to put children first!
Now’s the time to build firm foundations!
Now’s the time to mold the future! Now’s the time!
Now’s the time to finally realize children do as children see.
They’ll become their parents, brothers, sisters, friends,
and the heroes on TV

That didn’t work when I was young.

If ignorance is bliss, then full of bliss are we!

Like a good mother, Mother Nature keeps giving,
but her heart must be ready to break
She’s being abused and overused by her children
who choose to ignore!
There’s only so much that she can give
before she can give no more!!

when we will have about 10 Billion neighbors on this sphere.
Will our children’s children wake up to the “American Dream?”

The Children Need Us

THE CHILDREN NEED US
We cannot! No, we must not keep cutting education!
Each time we do we cut into the fabric of this nation!!
The greatest hope and gift we’re given
to prepare and take care of
is the miracle of each child
who we must nurture teach and love!
Are we teaching them what they should be learning
and learning from our mistakes?
How much longer can we gamble with so much at stake?
We talk, talk, talk, and say, “Education is the key
that unlocks the doors to who we are and what we hope to be.
And that children are the future, but the future will not wait
while we talk & talk & talk & talk until it is too late!!
The children need us to open up our eyes!
The children need us to finally realize
that their tomorrows depend on what we do today!
Let the needs of the children lead the way!!
Readin’, ritin’, rithmetic, and science are not all
we must learn if we’re going to save ourselves
and this blue-green ball we’re on!
As we continue to debate and create more excuses,
conditions worsen in our schools & everybody loses!
We cannot! No, we must not keep cutting education!

What we reap will be determined by the seeds we’ve planted!
Children are watching, and they’re listening,

The crew is every member of the human race.
Success or failure of the mission
will depend upon the crew
having the knowledge, skill, and empathy
to see the mission through.
Knowledge and skill without empathy
are as dark as dark can be!
Edison’s light bulb lights the world,
but many still don’t see
that everyone is different,
but everyone’s the same.
They laugh when they feel happy
and cry when they feel pain.
This century, empathy must finally find a place
in every human heart before we can start
to win……….. the human race!!
